Winter is over - approx 10% loss

Spring is here, but some hives didn't make it. Time to reflect and draw the lessons learnt

Easter review complete ...

Strong hives didn't make it through the winter. Location Ljutidol mostly affected. Generally colder microclimate with prolonged exposure to cold contributed, but not the main factor. Should have shrink the hives more to reduce the space to warm up.

Yellow jackets are pesky and taking advantage of the bees low temperature tolerance. They enter the hive one by one to steal honey by tiptoeing around the beehive ball (comprised of all the bees around the queen, vibrating with its wings to generate heat and keep all warm).
